Quick Review: Miman Renai

 

Found this seinen manga by Takashima Hiromi in mangatraders.com as their recommendation a few years ago (obviously before they were hacked -_-;). It was surprisingly sweet and naive for a seinen manga. The image and character’s design are even cuter than Usagi Drops.

The main plot of this manga revolves around the romance between a 29-going on-30 eroge (erotic game) programmer named Kurose Kazumi and a 7th grade middle schooler named Osawa Tomoe. Despite their huuuuge age gap they managed to stay connected and somehow share the same level of innocence.
Eventhought it looks like a typical lolicon/ecchi manga this manga is quite clean (well actually there’s still some nudity since Kurose is working on a erogame developer with a super sexy-boobs boss -_-;) and the story was really innocent n sweet.

My favorite and quotable scene in this manga is when Tomoe was concerned about the fact that she has never been kissed and all her other classmates had done it before then Kurose just said,

You have to be 20 before you can kiss, drink, or smoke

to me it’s just the sweetest line in the whole 5 volumes XD

Gw ga sengaja 'menemukan' manga seinen karya Takashima Hiromi ini di mangatraders.com sebagai rekomendasi mereka beberapa tahun yang lalu (pastinya sebelum mereka kena hack -_-;). Untuk standar seinen manga kisahnya cukup manis dan naif. Bahkan menurut gw karakter dan desainnya lebih cute daripada Usagi Drops.

Plot utama dari manga ini adalah kisah cinta antara seorang cowok berusia 29-hampir 30 tahun programmer eroge bernama Kurose Kazumi dan seorang gadis kelas 1 SMP bernama Osawa Tomoe. Walaupun beda umur mereka cukup jauh tapi entah bagaimana mereka tetap bisa nyambung dan memiliki level kenaifan yang sama.

Dibalik kesannya awalnya yang terlihat seperti komik lolicon/ecchi biasa, namun komik ini sebenarnya cukup 'bersih' dan ceritanya pun cukup sederhana dan manis.

Adegan dan dialog favorit gw di manga ini adalah ketika Tomoe merasa minder karena dia belum pernah dicium sedangkan teman-teman sekelasnya sudah, dan Kurose malah berkata:

  You have to be 20 before you can kiss, drink, or smoke

Buat gw itu adalah adegan termanis di sepanjang 5 volume Miman Renai.
